EMV® Contactless level 1 type approval update
Since January 1st 2022, payment devices submitted to EMV level 1 terminal type approval must comply with 3.1a testing requirements.
The technical documents required for the certification process have been updated accordingly (test plans, ICS, administrative processes) and are available on EMVCo website.
The new test plan is also applicable to renewal process and restricted renewal can be granted is some cases, with a validity period capped to december 31st 2025.
