The functions and commands necessary to perform an EMV Chip and PIN transaction are defined in the EMVCo® specifications, divided into 4 books (ICC to terminal interface, security and key management, application specification, and other interfaces).

Contactless

Contactless readers must support the functional applications of many card brands according the markets targeted for their deployment. Each payment scheme has defined contactless specifications and testing processes for the certification of contactless payment terminals.
